Hi all
We have done some preliminary planning on the proposed northern tour this August. This is just somewhere to start. There are a couple of criteria we have to consider. One is we fly all the way to Horn Island and return. Another one is for those visiting Borroloola on the way back they need to be in Borroloola by the morning of Wednesday 12th August.
We have started the tour from Warwick.
Day 1 mon 3/8, Warwick to Winton. If we can’t make it to Winton we could stay at Longreach.
Day 2 tue 4/8, Tour dinosaur diggings.
Day 3 wed 5/8, Winton to Normanton then on to Karumba.
Day 4 thur 6/8, Karumba to Weipa.
Day 5 fri 7/8, Do a mine tour.
Day 6 sat 8/8, Weipa to Horn Island and boat to TI
Day 7 sun 9/8, Tour TI.
Day 8 mon 10/8, Horn Island to Cooktown.
Day 9 tue 11/8, Cooktown to Emerald via Mareeba and Charters Towers.
Day 10 we’d 12/8, Emerald to Warwick.

The Borroloola group will leave the main tour at Cooktown.
Day 9 tue 11/8, Cooktown to Burketown.
Day 10 we’d 12/8, Burketown to Borroloola.

Phil and Mary will be visiting Mackay.
Day 9 tue 11/8, Cooktown to Mackay via Mareeba and Charters Towers.

All stops have fuel except for Karumba.
If you think this is reasonable we can start checking on accommodation, car hire, fuel costs, landing fees, parking fees, tour availability etc.
