With the support of the Caboolture Aero Club Committee and pending final approvals from MBRC and CASA, a major fly-in event will be held over the weekend of 22nd and 23rd of April 2017.
We are encouraging as much aircraft movement as possible over the two days. If you want to go flying that weekend, please don’t be turned off by the event. We want you to fly as per normal. The more departures and arrivals we have each hour of each day, the better it is for the viewing public.
There will be a UNICOM acting on the CTAF frequency, manned by Ray Vuillermin, to provide appropriate awareness of conflicting traffic if required. If the CTAF is busy, please give priority to commercial operations (Flying Schools and Adventure flights) so as to not impede their activities.
It is intended that from 1000 hours local through till 1430, CASA approved flying display routines may take place on the hour every hour, for up to 12 minutes. CASA will not allow other takeoffs or arrivals during that display period. UNICOM will advise these displays on CTAF frequency and request that inbound traffic remain outside 5nm and 3000 feet of the airfield until the routine is complete, at which stage UNICOM will announce that the airfield is open to all traffic. There is no restriction on flight ops outside that time.
